I received a request for a bookkeeper for an LA production company for a schoolofbookkeeping.com student (a great feature of enrollment). I introduced one of our students to the client and he asked for a resume. Now I know that LinkedIn is predominantly taken the place of resumes but many still maintain a resume to oblige a potential employer. Is this also true in the accounting and bookkeeping industry? Do bookkeepers and accountants maintain a resume?
Most bookkeepers and accountants are independent contractors or companies. I would expect that their website or LinkedIn profile would be their tool for providing a potential client with a resume-like solution. Yet, this client stood firm and I’m quite certain the applicants are scurrying about to update their resumes so they can get the client.
So how about you? Do you still maintain a resume? When was the last time you updated it?
